International Whistling Convention

First and oldest whistling convention in the world. Founded by Allen De Hart and held in Louisburg, North Carolina. The contest was stopped in 2014 after being in existence for 44 years and is no longer held.

Victor T. (Vic) Anderson, a Montana born cowboy, now living in Estes Park, Colorado, is the Western Music Association’s 2003/2004 Male Yodeling Champion. He is also noted for his wonderful whistling, which he calls his “poor man’s fiddle.”

Milt Briggs

He is a main organizer of the World Whistlers Convention in Japan. He learned the “Warbling” method (whistling with a trill) from Geert Chatrou and also studied under Kimiko Wakiyama before starting his own whistling career.

David Morris is a professional whistling artist. Started playing the cornet when 13 years old. He performs as a soloist with orchestra, concert and brass band and has won the title of Grand Master World Whistling Champion at the global event in the USA.

Sally Cohn

Sally Cohn has been handwhistling with her cupped hands for nearly sixty years, starting when she was twelve. She discovered her unique whistling gift while attending a basketball game. She was recently on America’s Got Talent.

Cartter Frierson

Cartter’s first CD, Whistling In the Garden was published in November, 2005. Subtitled Hymns for Meditation, this CD has eleven tracks of classic old hymns arranged as peaceful background music for a period of peaceful reflection.

“The Whistling Woman” – Phyllis is the 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2013 International Whistling Entertainer of the Year and has won the Grand Championship 3rd place in both 2004 and 2005.
